What’s the difference between the subscription tiers?
The Standard Subscription ($23/quarter) delivers each issue to your door. The Collector’s Edition ($43/quarter) includes the issue plus an exclusive 5×7” archival print selected by the photographer, limited to 50 per issue.
How do subscriptions work?
Subscriptions auto-renew quarterly until cancelled — there is no annual commitment. Each quarter, a new seasonal issue is made available. Subscribers receive 72-hour early access to prints before each issue opens to the public. Cancel anytime before the next issue ships.
When will my subscription begin?
Your subscription begins with the next available issue. Issue 01 (Summer 2026) is expected to ship in September 2026. If you subscribe after an issue has sold out, your subscription begins with the following issue.
Can I give a subscription as a gift?
Yes. Select “Gift Subscription” at checkout. Gift subscriptions begin with the next available issue.
Collector’s Edition
What’s included in the Collector’s Edition?
Each Collector’s Edition includes your quarterly LEDGER issue plus an exclusive 5×7” archival print selected by the photographer. Prints are included with each issue for as long as you hold your subscription.
How many Collector’s Editions are available?
Only 50 Collector’s Edition subscriptions are available per issue. When they are gone, they are gone — there are no reprints and no waitlist. If you want one, subscribe early.
Can I buy a Collector’s Edition without subscribing?
On the website, Collector’s Edition is subscription-only. Any unsold copies may be available in person at The Barbershop Gallery or at book fairs — but the only way to guarantee one is to subscribe.
What if the Collector’s Edition is sold out?
Subscribe to Standard and watch for announcements — if a Collector’s spot opens up between issues, subscribers hear about it first. We will not expand the edition beyond 50 per issue.
Shipping & Delivery
How is LEDGER shipped?
We ship within the United States via USPS. Shipping is included in your subscription price. Delivery typically takes 4–10 business days after we ship.
Do you ship internationally?
Not yet — we are currently U.S. only. International shipping is coming soon. Join our mailing list to be notified when it becomes available.
What if my issue arrives damaged?
Contact us within two weeks of delivery at justatrim@thebarbershop.ink with photos. We’ll send a replacement while supplies last.
Can I change my shipping address?
Yes — contact us at least two weeks before the next issue ships at justatrim@thebarbershop.ink.
Publication Schedule
How does the publication cycle work?
LEDGER publishes four issues a year — one per season. Each issue is available to subscribe at the start of its season and ships in the third month. The 500-copy edition is open until it sells out or the print deadline arrives, whichever comes first.
Issue 01 (Summer 2026) ships September 2026. Issue 02 (Fall 2026) ships December 2026.
What does the repeating cycle look like?
Issue 01 example: Summer 2026 opens July → Press deadline August → Ships September → Fall 2026 opens October
What happens when an issue sells out or the press deadline passes?
Once all 500 copies are sold or we reach the press deadline, that issue is closed. We go to press immediately. There are no reprints — the only way to guarantee your copy is to subscribe while the issue is open.
Cancellations & Refunds
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes — cancel anytime before the next issue ships. There is no annual commitment. Subscriptions auto-renew quarterly; as long as you cancel before we go to press for the next issue, you will not be charged for it.
What’s your return policy?
Due to the limited-run nature of LEDGER, we cannot accept returns. Damaged issues will be replaced while supplies last.

LEDGER is published by The Barbershop Art and Book Gallery in Hamtramck, Michigan.
How do you select photographers?
We invite photographers whose work demonstrates sustained attention to underexplored subjects.
Do photographers retain rights to their work?
Absolutely. LEDGER receives publication rights and the right to use images for promotion and Collector’s Edition prints. Photographers retain all copyrights.
