Each issue of LEDGER is devoted to a single photographer’s answer: What is worth remembering in an age of forgetting?

We publish photographers whose work demonstrates sustained attention — to a subject, a community, a place, a moment in time. We are interested in bodies of work, not single images.

We accept work in any photographic tradition: documentary, fine art, vernacular, archival. We are particularly drawn to projects made over months or years, not days.

What we look for

  • A cohesive, sequenceable body of work — minimum 40 images
  • A clear point of view that holds across the series
  • Work that rewards sustained looking, not just scrolling
  • An honest relationship between photographer and subject
  • Projects already developed, not pitches for future work
A note on rights: Photographers retain all copyrights. LEDGER receives publication rights and the right to use images to promote the journal and make Collector’s Edition prints.

300–600 words.
